Programma

Events Management is a broad and rapidly growing industry with many career opportunities. This means that there is a greater need than ever for trained specialists to plan, organize and deliver events. The purpose of this course is to provide an overview of the art and science of event management and also to give the participants an idea of what is involved in the planning of an event.
Course Content:
––10 key components of an event;
––“5-phase approach to event planning: research, design, planning, coordination and evaluation;
––Marketing: marketing of events and events as a marketing tool;
––hands on experience in the organization of the SAA Annual Teambuilding Event
Case studies and group work will be used to explore the phases of Event Management. Students will be actively involved in organizing the SAA Annual Teambuilding Event. This event will take place in Turin, at the end of the course. Participation is mandatory.
Course Evaluation:
Group work and collaboration is fundamental for an event’s positive outcome; therefore, class participation and attendance at the event is part of the final mark. In addition there will be a final written exam.
