Programma
The course gives an overview of the art and science of event management, the event
industry, its associations and designations. The participants will define the key concepts related to “special events” and learn to classify various types of events. They will put their knowledge into practice by choosing an event of their choice and relating it to the key concepts. In addition, the 10 key components of an event will be discussed and considered.
The participants will then move on to identify the “5-phase approach to event planning”: research, design, planning, coordination and evaluation. Case studies and group work will be used to explore each phase. In the last part of the seminar, the participants will use the course materials and internet to review and research the designations and associations, such as the International Special Events Society (ISES), that are available to event planners.
Finally, they will choose one and describe the benefits of it to the class.Testi consigliati e bibliografia
